Mexico City, March 24 - Mexico's state-owned energy company Pemex and its partners have submitted plans to develop the Zama oil field in Mexico, the company announced Thursday.

Pemex is working on the project with a team led by Talos energy, an American energy independent company, that includes Wintershall Dea and Harbor energy. The project development plan is awaiting formal approval from the National Hydrocarbons Commission, which is expected to be adopted in less than three months. The development includes two offshore platforms and 46 Wells connected to Pemex's onshore Dos Bocas terminal. It is expected to produce up to 180,000 barrels a day. The Zama field in the Gulf of Mexico was discovered in 2017 and is expected to hold about 850 million barrels of oil.
