Oman's "Viewpoint" reported on January 23 that according to data released by the Oman National Statistics and Information Center, in December 2023, Oman's oil production was 382.7 million barrels, down 1.5% year-on-year, and the average daily production was 1.048 million barrels, down 1.5% year-on-year. Crude oil production was 297.2 million barrels, down 3.9%, and condensate production was 85.4 million barrels, up 8.3%. The average price of oil was $82.3 per barrel, down 13.7% from a year earlier.

In December, Oman's total oil exports fell 2.4 percent from a year earlier. Oil exports to China reached 285.6m barrels, up 10 per cent from a year earlier. Oil exports to India, South Korea and Japan fell by 91.3 per cent, 56.8 per cent and 19.8 per cent respectively.

In terms of natural gas, Oman's total domestic production and imports of natural gas reached 53.9 billion cubic meters in December, an increase of 3.6% year-on-year. Natural gas consumption increased by 12.9% compared to the same period in 2022, and the consumption of oil fields, industrial zones and industrial projects increased by 4.9%, 4.1% and 0.8%, respectively.
