Recently, it was learned from the Tianjin Branch of CNOOC that Suizhong 36-1 crude oil terminal plant, which has the largest crude oil processing and transportation capacity in Asia, has exported more than 160 million tons of crude oil in the 23 years since it was put into operation, making important contributions to ensuring national energy security and economic development in the Bohai Rim region.

According to reports, Suizhong 36-1 crude oil terminal covers an area of about 650,000 square meters, is a comprehensive crude oil onshore terminal that integrates crude oil processing, storage and export. Since its one-time completion and operation in 2000, the crude oil terminal has undergone five modifications and expansions to fully receive and process oil produced from offshore platforms in Liaodong Bay, Bohai Sea. Among them, a number of "star oil fields" such as Suizhong 36-1 oilfield, China's largest offshore self-operated oil field, Luda 21-2 oilfield, China's first large-scale heavy oil thermal recovery oilfield, and Jinzhou 25-1 South Oil Field, Asia's largest offshore "four-star Lianzhu" platform, are transported here for centralized processing.
