The United States sold $86 billion worth of crude oil to world markets in the January-September period, it reported on Dec. 7. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, oil is America's largest export for the first time since 2009.

In second place were petroleum products, with $83 billion in exports. In third place was aircraft, with overseas sales up 19 percent to 81 billion euros. In fourth place is natural gas, with revenues of $50 billion; In fifth place was autos, with revenue of $48 billion, up 11 percent. In the January-September period, U.S. exports of goods and services totaled $261.1 billion, with a trade deficit of $61.5 billion.

September data from the U.S. Department of Energy showed that U.S. oil production rose 1.7 percent to 13.24 million barrels per day. According to Kommersant, the United States currently exports about 4 million barrels of oil per day, which is more than all OPEC+ members except Saudi Arabia.
