The cumulative crude oil production of SAGD production base, the largest shallow super heavy oil double horizontal well in China, exceeded 9 million tons

As of November 15, the cumulative production of SAGD in the Fengcheng Oilfield area of Xinjiang Oilfield Company exceeded 9 million tons of crude oil, and the oil-vapor ratio in the production stage was 0.18, entering a new stage of efficient development.

In 2008, the company started to set up the first SAGD test project of double horizontal Wells in China in Fengcheng Oilfield. After four years of exploration and practice, SAGD researchers in Xinjiang oilfield successfully tested and scaled up to achieve industrial application in 2012. In 2017, SAGD output exceeded one million tons and achieved continuous stable production. It has formed ten supporting technologies for the development of continental shallow super-heavy oil SAGD, which are mainly based on fine reservoir description, fine dynamic regulation and three-dimensional development well pattern adjustment, and has built the largest SAGD industrial production base of shallow super-heavy oil double horizontal Wells in China, which has generally reached the international leading level.

Since 2023, SAGD of Fengcheng Oilfield has accelerated the transformation and upgrading of heavy oil thermal recovery and exploitation technology, and has taken the lead in launching SAGD green and low-carbon tests of "replacing steam with electricity, steam with agent and steam with gas" in Xinjiang oilfield. In order to solve the problem of high energy consumption in the middle and later stages of SAGD mining, the concept of "energy complementary and energy oriented" is changed, and non-condensate gas/solvent heat insulation is used to increase energy and improve oil displacement efficiency. At present, more than 70 well groups have been implemented, and the steam replacement rate of a single well group is more than 15%, which realizes steam exchange with gas and steam exchange with agent, and greatly reduces the steam consumption. In view of the problems of long time and high energy consumption in SAGD cycle preheating stage of super heavy oil, innovative electric heating assisted SAGD start-up technology is introduced. Electric heating device is installed in the injection and production well, and the two Wells are simultaneously electrically heated to achieve balanced preheating of the whole well section without pressure between Wells, which changes the traditional steam injection thermal production mode and strongly promotes the coordinated development of green and low-carbon development of heavy oil and new energy.
