The United Arab Emirates provided 42 percent of Japan's crude oil demand in July, equivalent to 33.99 million barrels, according to the Tokyo-based Natural Resources and Energy Agency.
The agency, which is part of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, said Japan imported 81.05 million barrels of crude oil during the month, of which 79.17 million barrels, or 97.17 percent, came from Arab countries, Wam news agency reported.
Saudi Arabia is in second place, supplying 35.1% of Japan's crude demand, or 28.47 million barrels.
