The sand-preventing rod pump of our company operates the same as conventional API rod pumps in terms of setting and oil pumping.

The pump features the following characteristics:

1) The upper end of the pump barrel assembly is equipped with a ring valve structure. The ring valve is mounted on the valve rod. During the downward stroke of the plunger, oil flows through the ring valve slot. When the plunger moves upward, the ring valve retracts, simultaneously blocking sand particles carried by the oil flow outside the pumping unit, thereby serving a sand-blocking function;

2) Sealing ring device. When the pump barrel assembly is seated in the rubber bowl support flange during the lowering of the oil pump, the downward movement of the valve rod also expands the sealing sleeve within the sealing ring device, creating a sealed space between the sealing ring device and the oil pipe. During the reciprocating motion of the plunger in the pumping process, sand particles in the oil flow are prevented from entering the annular space of the pump, effectively blocking the sand grains;

3) The plunger is equipped with a PA ring. The PA ring (friction ring) on the plunger serves as a soft sealing mechanism between the ring and the pump barrel during the pumping process, reducing sand sticking and wear.

After improvements to these three key components, the pump has excellent sand-proof and sand-blocking functions, significantly extending its service life. It has achieved outstanding results in both domestic and international oilfields.
