China's Xijiang oilfield in the South China Sea produced more than 100 million cubic meters of crude oil

The reporter learned from the Shenzhen branch of China National Offshore Oil Company on February 11 that the company is located in the Xijiang oilfield in the Pearl River Mouth Basin of the South China Sea, and the cumulative production of crude oil exceeded 100 million cubic meters as of February 10, becoming the highest oil field in the South China Sea.

Chen Sanjun, general manager of CNOOC Xijiang Oilfield, said that Xijiang Oilfield is one of the first large offshore oil fields for exploration and development in China. Over the past 30 years, Xijiang 24-3, Xijiang 30-2 and other oil fields with reserves of 30 million square meters or more have been discovered and developed successively, producing more than 2 million cubic meters of crude oil for 28 consecutive years. It provides a solid guarantee for the energy supply of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Chen Sanjun said that at present, Xijiang Oilfield is speeding up the construction of new oil fields and the transformation of smart oil fields, and the large-scale promotion and application of new technologies such as subdivision and water control to stabilize production, so as to promote the production scale of Xijiang oilfield to a new level.
